    Alpha Kappa Psi offers a unique opportunity to attain the critical professional skills necessary to excel in tomorrow’s workforce. Based on it’s two pillars of Brotherhood and Professionalism, Alpha Kappa Psi brings together a diversity of people who have a common desire for excellence and a motivation to achieve more. Through hands on leadership experience, insightful seminars, professional workshops, and internship opportunities, our members have grown to become a highly recognized pool of potential recruits by many of the nation’s leading firms.
  • What differentiates AKPsi and other fraternities?
    Alpha Kappa Psi differentiates itself from the common fraternity by providing not only strong brotherhood, but also a firm background in business etiquette, exposure to real business practices, and opportunities to network with high level executives to further professional development. In addition, as the NuXi Chapter has been established for more than 20 years, it has leveraged an extensive alumni base whose careers range from financial banks such as Chase to large corporations such as Microsoft.

    The world of business incorporates industries ranging from finance to technology, none of which can be possible without people from diverse academic & cultural backgrounds. We at AKPsi appreciate this more than anyone else, hence our membership reflects diversity both in academic majors as well as cultural backgrounds

  • Does AKPsi only take business majors?
    Alpha Kappa Psi accepts all majors. Our diversity of majors is an aspect that we pride ourselves on.
  • What is rush?
    Rush is an opportunity for rushees to get to know the active members of the fraternity on a more personal level. It is also our chance to evaluate the rushees and for rushees to see if the fraternity is a good fit for them.
  • What kind of people does AKPsi look for?
    Alpha Kappa looks for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for and aspire to be future business leaders of the world. The fraternity encourages all who are interested in the fraternity to rush and see the potential it has for them.
  • Do you have to attend all the rush events to qualify for membership?
    No. However, one MUST attend both the Case Study Night and Personal Interviews in order to obtain a bid.
  • What are the formal qualifications?
    Qualifications for a bid are that you are a UCSD student and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • If I don’t get a bid, can I rush again?
    Of course! Alpha Kappa Psi encourages all those who are passionate about becoming principled business leaders to continue to show their determination and strength toward their goals.
  • What is pledging like?
    Pledging is much like training for an actual company or can be compared alongside an internship. You will learn and exercise team-building skills, public speaking skills, leadership opportunities, etc. in the context of business projects and practices
  • What are the expectations in a professional interview?
    The personal interview’s only expectation is to be honest about who you are. Demonstrate that you aspire to be a principled business leader and present yourself well doing so.
